Fall Favorites
It's Fall Y'all
Fall can be one of the best times of year to travel. Temperatures are still mostly comfortable and places are often less crowded than during the Summer. Best of all, leaves start changing colors to create magical scenery. Below are 4 of my Favorite Fall Getaways to provide ideas for your next Fall trip.
Napa & Sonoma
Fall is my favorite time of year to visit Napa & Sonoma Valley. There's nothing like sipping a glass of wine in the crisp air, admiring the views, with the sun overhead. Fall is also the tail-end of Harvest Season when grapes are picked to make the wine. Temperatures range from highs of 60-80 degrees F and lows of 40-50 degrees F. Check out the complete Napa & Sonoma Valley Guide and get ready to get cozy.
New York City
There's something magical about walking through Central Park on a crisp Fall day. Temperatures have cooled, but are still comfortable and locals are back in town from summer getaways providing a more authentic feel. NYC Wine & Food Festival occurs in mid-October, providing another great reason to visit in Fall to enjoy bites while taking in the skyline. Head to the New York City Guide for recommendations for a great Fall trip.
Michigan
Move over New England, the Midwest holds its own with beautiful trees changing colors in Fall. Some of the best drives to see lush trees with golden colors are in Michigan. Michigan also offers fun Fall activities like apple and pumpkin picking and has its fair share of cideries and breweries to enjoy after a day at the orchard or farm. New Mexico
Fall is a great time of year to visit New Mexico with the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta that takes place the second week of October. The fiesta welcomes hundreds of thousands of spectators to the Hot Air Ballooning Capital of the World for a 9 day event to witness hundreds of hot air balloons grace the sky. Fall is also a great time to see the beautiful cottonwood and aspen trees change color in the Santa Fe National Park. Check out the full New Mexico Guide for places to stay, eat, drink and more.
